Tag: All About Jacob

Name: Jacob Brent. We had several names picked out, but when he came out and we saw red hair, Brent and I both went with Jacob. Brent because he is Brent's Mini-me!

Age: He is 9 1/2 months old and as chubby as ever.

Nicknames: Hannah's nick-name for him is Jacob-ee. Chunky monkey, mister, stinker man.

Favorite Activities: Eating, watching Hannah, eating, jumping in the jump-a-roo, eating, bouncing on the bed, eating.

Favorite Food: fruit, solids.

Least favorite food: What was that? Seriously!

Favorite toy: slinky, anything shiny or noisy (chip bags)

Favorite book: Anything he can chew on such as board books

Favorite article of clothing: Being naked! He gets very excited mostly because he knows that it's bath time.

What makes him happy: His blankie, food, and his mommie.

What makes him sad: Not much really. Mostly just when he's hungry or tired.

Name: Hannah Camille. We had several names picked out, but thanks to the combined efforts of our families, they won out on Hannah. I didn't necessarily want to give our girls middle names since I don't have one, but Camille just fit too perfectly with Hannah. Plus, I really like having her named after me!

Age: She will be 3 on Oct. 13. She is so mature for her age and speaks like she's a kindergartener, so people can't believe it when I tell them that she's only two.

Nicknames: Hannah Banana, Princess Hannah, Hannah Montana, Crazy.

Favorite Activities: Dancing, singing, coloring, painting, making Jacob laugh, dressing up, watching Princess movies, and painting her fingernails.

Favorite Food: Pizza, Root-Beer, chicken nuggets, fresh homemade bread, anything with chicken or sugar!

Least favorite food: green beans

Favorite toy: Right now... she loves her dress-up clothes and clappy shoes. Hannah is a princess through and through. Also her blankie and her bears, always.

Favorite book: Whatever we have from the library. She really likes books that have songs that go with them.

Favorite article of clothing: Anything that makes her pretty. Mostly dresses and anything pink.

What makes her happy: Blankie, Jacob laughing at her, Daddy, Heather, anything pink.

What makes her sad: When things aren't done the "right" way. She is very much a perfectionist. When she feels like we've abandoned her even if we are right there. For example, the picture of her crying.

I tag: Kim, Heather, & Amy

Saturday Morning Hike

On Saturday morning we went for a nice little family hike with our friends, Ben, Julie, Callie & Kate Poulsen. Hannah and Callie are only two months apart and have become great friends. We had a great time with them hiking up a little trail in the Bridger Mountains. We had lots of tears from little girl's falling down, Jacob ate leaves and we even had a little picnic lunch. What a great way to spend a Fall morning!

Jacob would grab leaves off of the trees as we passed them and would usually end up eating them. "Mmm! Breakfast!"

Our teething monster loves to munch on carrots. He wasn't even using his hands on this one.

The woods were beautiful! Fall is certainly on it's way.

Life Goes On

Well, there has not been much going on at our house lately besides work, playing with friends, and the occasional head cold. Life has been crazy busy and crazy fun all at the same time.

Hannah has had a cold this week and had to miss her beloved nursery class on Sunday. Because she was sick, however, I had the chance to go to church by myself. I got to listen to the speakers and even took notes! Hannah will be starting preschool next week. A spot opened up this week for her. We are very excited for this exciting next step, but also a little sad because this means that our baby girl is "all grown up and saving China" (name that movie).

Jacob had his nine month check up on the 18th. He weighed in at a hefty 21 lbs 4 oz (75th percentile) and an average 28 1/4 inches long (50th percentile). His head was 50th percentile as well. We love his chubby cheeks, but his thighs seem to give both Brent and I flashbacks to our days of living with Randy. Ugh. We are loving Jacob's new, daily acquired quirks. He is so much fun and gives us daily laughs.

Brent is doing well and is adjusting to being back in school again. He had the summer off. From now until April 2010 will be a straight shot until the end. It sounds like a long time, but it's really only a year and a half. A friend of ours asked the other day how many semesters Brent had left of school. We told her five semesters and she said "Well, that's not bad. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel." We then clarified and told her that it's for his MBA and that he has 5/6 semesters left to go. I think we just walked in to the tunnel and the light is fading behind us.

I have been working a lot at the hospital ER registration desk, babysitting, and playing with my kids. I must also admit that I have succumbed to the latest fad and have been reading the Twilight series. That is probably the biggest reason that I haven't been posting. I have even been neglecting my children for the sake of reading! Jacob goes down for a nap, Hannah gets a movie, and I get my book. I just NEED to find out what happens! The ER is lots of fun. I always come home with stories. I like the people that I get to work with. There are a couple of nurses who are hilarious! Nurse Michelle is a single mom who had two children on her own by artificial insemination, mail order dad's and all. I know! We also get to babysit our friend, Jack, a few days a week. I think all three kids love to play together and we love having Jack's happy personality around. We do lots of play dates and love going out with friends. I even got to have a girl's night last week with one of my good girlfriends. Overall things are going really well. We are happy and having lots of fun. Life is as it should be, crazy and fun.

Let's Go Fly A Kite

Last Saturday evening we walked to the local school and went to fly our kites.

Hannah was SO excited that she skipped the entire way there.

Here is Hannah running, trying to keep her kite up.

Once Brent got his Spiderman kite up in the air he hooked it to Jacob's stroller. This is Jacob "flying" his kite.

Hannah flying her Barbie kite.

The Barbie and Spiderman kites that I bought for $1 each at Walmart. Our kites flew better than the expensive one that was there!

How Many People Named "Camille Luke" Are There?

How many have your name?

Hernia

Here's a little update on why I haven't been posting:

About a week after I had Jacob I felt a pull in my c-section incision area and thought I was going to DIE from the pain! Well, come to find out I had pulled some muscles and developed a hernia. It has been very uncomfortable and hard to carry my heavy children. On August 20th, I went in to the hospital and had surgery to repair it. Everything went well and I am on the mend thanks to both of our mothers for coming to help. Thank you Mom!
