Life Goes On

Well, there has not been much going on at our house lately besides work, playing with friends, and the occasional head cold. Life has been crazy busy and crazy fun all at the same time.

Hannah has had a cold this week and had to miss her beloved nursery class on Sunday. Because she was sick, however, I had the chance to go to church by myself. I got to listen to the speakers and even took notes! Hannah will be starting preschool next week. A spot opened up this week for her. We are very excited for this exciting next step, but also a little sad because this means that our baby girl is "all grown up and saving China" (name that movie).

Jacob had his nine month check up on the 18th. He weighed in at a hefty 21 lbs 4 oz (75th percentile) and an average 28 1/4 inches long (50th percentile). His head was 50th percentile as well. We love his chubby cheeks, but his thighs seem to give both Brent and I flashbacks to our days of living with Randy. Ugh. We are loving Jacob's new, daily acquired quirks. He is so much fun and gives us daily laughs.

Brent is doing well and is adjusting to being back in school again. He had the summer off. From now until April 2010 will be a straight shot until the end. It sounds like a long time, but it's really only a year and a half. A friend of ours asked the other day how many semesters Brent had left of school. We told her five semesters and she said "Well, that's not bad. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel." We then clarified and told her that it's for his MBA and that he has 5/6 semesters left to go. I think we just walked in to the tunnel and the light is fading behind us.

I have been working a lot at the hospital ER registration desk, babysitting, and playing with my kids. I must also admit that I have succumbed to the latest fad and have been reading the Twilight series. That is probably the biggest reason that I haven't been posting. I have even been neglecting my children for the sake of reading! Jacob goes down for a nap, Hannah gets a movie, and I get my book. I just NEED to find out what happens! The ER is lots of fun. I always come home with stories. I like the people that I get to work with. There are a couple of nurses who are hilarious! Nurse Michelle is a single mom who had two children on her own by artificial insemination, mail order dad's and all. I know! We also get to babysit our friend, Jack, a few days a week. I think all three kids love to play together and we love having Jack's happy personality around. We do lots of play dates and love going out with friends. I even got to have a girl's night last week with one of my good girlfriends. Overall things are going really well. We are happy and having lots of fun. Life is as it should be, crazy and fun.
